2. Accelerating sustainability through shared value

The major key to success to a more sustainable world lies in the hands of business, as choices made by major corporations have an enormous impact on society... Is it possible to accelerate progress in this area by linking sustainability and business more closely? 

Peter d’Angremond, Executive Director of Max Havelaar Foundation will focus on connecting sustainable initiatives of companies to those of their customers, suppliers and other stakeholders, various value chains can be enhanced in which a viable business case for sustainability is present in every link of the value chain. This may lead to the generation of shared value, in which Procurementinvolved can really make a difference while remaining profitable.

Lex de Bruijn (FIRA) will address questions like : How do Procurement departments assess sustainability of suppliers? How can one use and value certifications and other labels? What guarantee do certifications and labels provide  that your procurement department in dealing with sustainable suppliers?
