18. Investing in agriculture, the challenge of our generation.

The importance of agriculture is clear. In many developing countries agriculture represents 20-60% of GDP, 40-80% of total employment, in total 30% of GHG emissions and 70% of water use.

Our common challenge is to double agricultural output in a sustainable way to feed 9.3 billion people by 2050. This challenge requires investments in agriculture on a unprecedented scale.

In this highly interactive workshop you are invited to actively participate in the discussion and design about the conditions under which this challenge can be solved. Both experts and the audience will give their vision and contribute to this workshop with their expertise and ideas.
