Michel Rademaker

Deputy Director, market and operations HCSS

Michel Rademaker is deputy director and senior policy analyst of HCSS. He has a degree in Transport and Logistics, obtained at the University of Tilburg. He gained fifteen years of hands-on experience as an officer of the Netherland Royal Army, where he held various military operational and staff posts. After leaving the army, Mr. Rademaker went on to work at TNO as a project manager and senior policy advisor. At HCSS, he is responsible for business development and internal affairs.

He is particularly interested in setting up multi-stakeholder projects on new and upcoming security themes. One such theme concerns the security implications of resource scarcity, but Mr. Rademaker is also an expert in the fields of army concepts and doctrines, technology surveys and assessments, and serious gaming techniques. Mr. Rademaker is also chairman of the Dutch platform material scarcity. He frequently acts as a guest lecturer at Webster University and the University of Amsterdam.
