John Parslow
John has had 29 years of experience working within the food and farming sector and of these the last 12 have been with certification bodies. Initially after gaining a post graduate diploma in Crop Protection he worked in the agricultural supply trade as an agronomist for arable crops and also supplying livestock producers with feed and veterinary products. He followed this with 3 years as technical manager for a fresh produce packing and distribution operation supplying multiple retailers. His next position was as an organic inspector with Soil Association Certification Ltd and he then took on the role of inspector manager.
After 5 years he joined NSF-CMi Certification Ltd as produce scheme manager for the Assured Produce Scheme and Tesco Nurture. He was then appointed operations manager for all the certification schemes run by NSF-CMi. His current role is in the development of new and innovative certification and risk assessment services. He has recently completed a number of contracts with sectors of the Canadian livestock industry linking disease risk measurement with insurance and the development of biosecurity standards. |
